Ear Plugs Needed
Cameron County will blast off Saturday July 2! Fireworks will light the sky starting at 9:30pm. “What makes this display unique is the loud explosions,” says Cameron County Chamber of Commerce executive director Tina Solak. Ear protection is advised according to Solak!
The non-stop 30 minute show draws an audience from as far away as Maine, Florida, and throughout the state. Many families plan reunions around the event and camp owners mark the date on the calendar. The gates to the Cameron County High School Football stadium opens at 7pm. The home bleachers provide up close safe viewing. The fireworks committee sells food at the concession stand.
The chamber staff coordinates the display in conjunction with Weekend in the Wilds which begins Friday July 1 with a quilt show, ice cream social and music.
