K.C. Joseph M.D

K.C. Joseph M.D. Obituary K.C. Joseph, M.D., 68, of 647 Evergreen Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness. 

He was born May 28, 1947 in Kerala, Trivandrum, India, son of the late K.C. and Mary Chacko. He was married to the former Mary Lou Yockey Joseph who survives, of Lancaster, and by his partner for the past 13 years, Amy Reed of St. Marys.

He was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, attended Pre-University at Intermediate College, studied pre-med at Mar Ivanios College and graduated medical school from Government Medical College, all in Trivandrum, India. He was a board certified surgeon having served his internship at Doctor's Hospital in Washington, D.C., served his residency at Prince George's County Hospital in Cheverly, Md., served at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md. and in 1978 joined the staff at the Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital, now Penn Highlands Elk.

Dr. Joseph was a member of the Queen of the World Church, Fellow of the International College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, member of the American Medical Association and was an artist and calligrapher.

He is also survived by two daughters, Julie Joseph of San Diego, Calif., 
Melissa Joseph of Cincinnati, Ohio;
 a son, James K. Joseph and his wife Zoe of Philadelphia;
 and by a grandchild to be born this November.
 Dr. Joseph is also survived by four sisters, Mary Mathew of India, 
Teresa Chacko of India,
 Elizabeth Chacko of India, 
Claramma Chacko of India; 
and two brothers, K.C. Thomas of India and K.C. Francis of India.

 A Mass of Christian Burial for K.C. Joseph, M.D. will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Allen, pastor, officiating.
 Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery. 

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 11 from 5-8 p.m.
