Lace up Shoes Join Hike Cameron County
Cameron County Chamber of Commerce and outdoor enthusiasts Nelson Haas from Mountaineer Search and Rescue plus Mark Johnson from Allegany Birding Club will lead a group Saturday June 6 celebrating National Trail Day.
The event will explore the West Creek Rails to Trails. Numerous wildflower and bird species are calling the 6 mile completed section home. Johnson and Haas will point out the unique species.
“Utilizing the rails to trails will provide an opportunity for everyone to enjoy National Trail Day,” explains chamber executive director Tina Solak.
The day will begin at 8 am at the caboose in Emporium. Participants can decide how long they want to travel on the 6 mile trail, or if they prefer to join the group along the way.
Organizers request that you register at the chamber office in order to have a head count. There is no fee and more information is available by calling 814-486-4314.
