EMPORIUM — Members of the Emporium Borough Council at Monday’s meeting discussed new grants available for levee and flood protection projects which the borough is likely eligible to receive.
Borough Manager Don Reed stated that new grants are not often made available, but it is likely that the borough meets the requirements set forth for the newest one being issued by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) due to the agency-sponsored Oak Street Flood Protection area.
