Elk County Business Supporting Mountaineer Search and Rescue
Medix Hotel will sponsor a best ball golf tournament at the Emporium Country Club Saturday July 19. The event will be a fundraiser for the Mountaineer Search and Rescue Team.
Golfing, prizes, food and entertainment at the Medix Hotel are included in the fee of $45.00 for an Emporium Country Club member and $55.00 for non-members.
The tournament will offer numerous skill prizes including closest shot to the Big Foot. Big Foot Hunt is one of Mountaineer Search and Rescue yearly fundraisers. Straub Brewery, Crescent Beer, Glenwood Beer and Medix Hotel are sponsoring the prizes.
The largest is $10,000 in cash for a hole in one!
Mountaineer Search and Rescue began in 1984 . Today it has 22 members that complete rigorous training in land and water searches. This year the team assisted Elk and Clearfield County Emergency Management with water rescue/searches

Medix Hotel owner Peggy DeCarli says she recognizes the hard work and hours of training put in by Mountaineer Search and Rescue and wanted to raise money for the group.
The Medix Hotel is open Wednesday through Sunday at the intersection of Route 555 and Quehanna Highway.
