HOMETOWN MENTORS, INC. ANNOUNCES CONFIRMATION OF $15,000 GRANT FOR THE PROSPECT PARK PLAYGROUND!!
In October, 2013, HMI (Cathy Ostrum) prepared the grant materials and submitted to a national organization (KABOOM.ORG) headquartered in Washington, DC applying to receive a Community Build Dream Playground for the Prospect Park, Armstrong Memorial, Playground.
We never received anything regarding this grant application, so I called the DC office just 5 minutes ago and she said, "YOU ARE CONFIRMED TO RECEIVE THE $15,000 GRANT."
For some reason we never received the email award notice. She said that happened with one other organization too.
She will resend the notice and then next week we will hear about the online training that will take place showing us next steps and all the particulars.
With this grant we will receive professional help (which we all need haha) in laying out the playground and planning for the build day!! This is such a WONDERFUL opportunity and will see the finish of the equipment purchase for the older kids at Prospect Park. One thing is that we need to have 100 people show up on the build day to complete the installation. We will keep you updated so you can come on out and help us!!
I'll keep you all updated but want to congratulate ALL OF US... for persistence and never giving up on "Keeping the Dream Alive"!!
