If you do choose to buy your own pants, please buy the plain grey pants with no stripes.

The League will be furnishing shirts and hats for the players. We will have sample shirts for you to look at or try on if need be. For all Junior League boys and girls and Senior boys and girls, we will have their favorite number printed on their shirt, so please have that information also at sign-ups.

I am ART

We Need Your Help.

Over the past months, TEAM Cameron County has discussed several art oriented projects for our community. One of those projects, the Cameron County mural project is already underway and will include a large outdoor mural made of recycled materials along the Rails-to-Trails path. That project is a long-term endeavor inspired by a very talented local artist Sarah Nolan. A second project in the beginning level of planning is an art co-op that would include woodworking and pottery equipment, painting and art supplies, and classes for the community. The co-op would be open to the public. We originally looked at these projects as individual achievements. Each is a project in itself. After reviewing what other communities have achieved, we feel it may be more advantageous to manage these projects as a whole, and not individually. We are now in search of 6-7 art loving individuals who feel the need to serve on a committee to help establish an art non-profit similar to the Elk County Council of the Arts. By establishing a non-profit, it would allow the organization access to a number of grants and other areas of financial support. An art co-op would be another large draw that our community deserves. We urge everyone to get involved. If you would like to get involved, want to volunteer some time, and would like to discuss being part of this group, please direct message us. No commitment. We are only beginning our trip and not sure where it will head. See if you’re the one to make this happen!

Cole Memoral Hospital Updates Visitation Policy

COUDERSPORT, PA-- A recent Pennsylvania Department of Health Advisory has determined that this influenza (flu) season has seen the highest number of flu cases reported per week since the 2009 pandemic. As a result, Cole Memorial Hospital is temporarily restricting visitations. The restriction will protect patients, visitors and staff from unnecessary exposure to the highly contagious flu virus.

Effective immediately, Cole Memorial is requesting that visitors postpone any visits to a hospitalized patient if they are experiencing signs or symptoms such as: • Runny nose • Fever • Cough • Vomiting, nausea or diarrhea.

In addition, visitors must be at least 18 years old during this temporary restriction (except siblings who are not exhibiting flu symptoms will be allowed to visit new babies in the Maternity Department).

As a reminder, Cole Memorial encourages these strategies to prevent spreading the flu: • Avoid close contact. • Stay at home when you are sick. • Clean your hands. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth, and practice other good health habits. • Get a flu shot—it’s not too late.

Cole Memorial employees are dedicated to receiving an annual flu vaccine to protect patients and staff. Anyone who has not received a flu vaccine can still benefit from its protection. Flu shots are still accessible. To locate a Cole Memorial Medical Group primary care provider, visit www.colememorial.org.

The cost is $10 if someone from the organization reads the ad, or $15 if a performer or member of the fair association reads the information.

WE ARE CHANGING OUR NAME!

WE ARE CHANGING OUR NAME!

At our monthly meeting last night, it was decided that we would change the name of our group from Cameron County Community Action Partnership to Team Cameron County. The name change will occur as of today. Because there has been a lot of confusion lately between our group and the The Cameron County Project, we took this step so each group can clearly communicate their targeted goals to a shared audience. This change should dispel any confusion. The name was chosen to reflect the fact that this Team Cameron County is a group effort and that there is no "i" in team!

We encourage forward thinking individuals, as well as other organizations that feel the efforts of others will help their cause, to join. The membership of our steering committee continues to grow! Thanks to all of our members!

PRESS RELEASE: The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum is hosting Snow-Mobility Weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9, 10 and 11 from 9 .m. to 5 p.m. each day. The museum is 10 miles west of Galeton and 10 miles east of Coudersport at 5660 Route 6 in Ulysses Township.

For this weekend only, if there is enough snow, the museum will work with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to create a special 5-mile route for snowmobilers that starts at Thompson Road, south of Route 6 in the Susquehannock State Forest and ends on museum property. Way-finding signs and instructions will be placed along the route. Snowmobilers are urged to use extreme caution and watch for oncoming traffic when crossing Route 6 to get to the museum.

On Saturday, Feb. 10, Curt Weinhold, a museum board member, will lead a free, 4.5-mile cross-country skiing excursion. It will begin promptly at 9 a.m. at the trailhead near the DCNR Bureau of Forestry District 15 Office located at the top of Denton Hill (GPS address: 3150 2nd Street, Coudersport). Interested skiers should meet at the District 15 office at 8:45 a.m. The mostly downhill route will include Denton Hill cross-country ski trails and end at the museum.

Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Feb. 9, 10 and 11, the museum will show a variety of documentary films on a continuous basis for free. Among the documentaries are: “The CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps), A Peaceful Revolution;” “The Last Raft, a Story of Courage and Tragedy on the Susquehanna;” “Gifford Pinchot’s Conservation Legacy;” “Mira Lloyd Dock: A Beautiful Crusade;” “Straight Talk: the Ralph Abele Story;” “Voices of Pine Creek: An Oral History (Vols. 1 & 2)” and “America’s First Forest: Carl Schenck and the Asheville Experiment."

All visitors, including snowmobilers and cross-country skiers, are welcome to warm up in the museum with free hot beverages available between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. On Saturday only between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. will be an all-you-can-eat pancake brunch for $8 per person with all proceeds to benefit the museum and its educational programs. The brunch also includes two sausage patties and a choice of coffee, tea or cocoa.

Regular admission rates apply for entry into museum exhibits but there is no cost to enter for food purchases or to see the documentaries. Admission rates are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors 65 and older and $5 for youth ages 3 to 11.
