Sarah C. DeLucia


Sarah C. DeLucia, 93, of 445 Ash St., Emporium, PA died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Sunday morning. (February 18, 2018) She was born June 16, 1924 in Clermont, PA a daughter of the late Carmen A. and Mary Fablo Grillo. On May 24, 1952 in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, PA she married the late Marion DeLucia. He preceeded her in death in 1985. Mrs. DeLucia attended Clermont Schools and graduated, as valedictorian, from the former Mt. Jewett High School in the class of 1942. She worked at Sylvania in Emporium where she met her future husband Marion. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed her many visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and was a seventy-five year member of the C.D.of A. 

She is survived by daughter, Rose (Roy) True, Walsenburg, CO; son, Andrew DeLucia, Emporium; son, Joseph (Sherry) DeLucia, Emporium; daughter, Mary T. DeLucia, Hornell, NY; son, A. Pete DeLucia, Emporium; son, Christopher (Susan) DeLucia, Ottawa, OH; son, Martin DeLucia, St. Marys; daughter, Anne (Ted) Chen, Livingston, NY; daughter, Theresa (Dion) Zappe, Andover NJ; twenty-one grandchildren: Sarah, Rolin, Mark, Michael, Beth, Anne Marie, Kristen, Christina, Laura, Stephen, Adam, Melissa, Sarah, Isaac, Thomas, John Peter, Mary, David, Justin, Lillian &Clara; seven great grandchildren: Joelle, Eliana, Nora, Harrison, Lilah, Evie and Erica; brother, John (Frances) Grillo, Chrystal City, MO; sister, Theresa "Daisy" Smith, Emporium and many nieces & nephews.

 In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucy Ann in infancy; great granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth; two brothers, Joseph and Anthony "Tony" Grillo. 

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:30-7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Thursday (February 22, 2018) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. 

Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
