Sizerville State Park Environmental Education Programs for 4 th of July Weekend 2024 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Program Title: Stars & Stripes
 Date: Thursday, July 4 th
Time: 10:00 – 11:00 AM 
Location: Environmental Learning Center Description: Join the park educator for a short program on the history of Independence Day and the American flag. A make and take craft will follow the talk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Program Title: Red, White, & Blue Scavenger Hunt
 Date: Friday, July 5 th 
Time: 3:00 – 4:30 PM 
Location: Pavilion 3 Description: Come out and explore Sizerville State Park and search for red, white, and blue colors in nature! Children should be accompanied by an adult and sturdy footwear is recommended. Feel free to bring sunscreen, bug spray, and a bottle of water. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Program Title: Nature Sound Bingo 
Date: Friday, July 5 th 
Time: 8:00 – 9:00 PM
 Location: Campground Amphitheater Description: Coyotes howl into the night, a Black-capped Chickadee sounds like they are saying “cheeseburger”, and Beavers sound like a baby crying. Come out to this program to listen and learn about some common sounds/calls animals make all around us. 
Short talk followed by a bingo game to test your memory! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Program Title: Tracks & Traces 
Date: Saturday, July 6 th
 Time: 3:00 – 4:30 PM 
Location: Environmental Learning Center Description: Have you ever wondered what a bobcat pawprint looks like? Or what about a bear? Or an otter? Come out to this program and find out, along with learning about other mammal species of Pennsylvania! Short talk followed by an activity to make your own track out of a mold to take home with you!

Program Title: Film in the Forest: Eagles & Ospreys
 Date: Saturday, July 6th 
 Time: 8:00 – 9:30 PM 
Location: Campground Amphitheater Description: Did you know that the Bald Eagle became our national bird in 1782? Did you know that Ospreys live on every continent except Antarctica? Join the park educator for a program to learn about these large birds of prey. Short talk followed by a movie—feel free to bring snacks and a blanket.

 Additional Information: In case of thunder, lightning, or extreme weather conditions programs may be moved or cancelled. If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact the park office at (814) 486-5605. With a minimum of one week notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.
