Sinnemahoning Gravel Race Includes Shorter Distance
This week the Sinnemahone Triple Crown Committee agreed to add a shorter distance to the gravel race planned for Saturday September 28. The new distance is 14 miles and utilizes West Creek Rails Trails from Emporium to Truman. “Many people inquired about a shorter distance since they were new to biking,” says Cameron County Chamber of Commerce executive director Tina Solak. The Sinnemahone Triple Crown event created to encourage people of all skill levels to take advantage of the amazing natural resources found in Cameron County. This shorter distance shows off a portion of the trail linking Emporium and St Marys. The elevation is a slow increase, unlike the 55 mile gravel race. The Sinnemahone Gravel utilizes West Creek Rails Trails but heads to and through Sinnemahoning State Park covering 55 miles of trails in the Elk State Forest and returning to Emporium for the All Fired Up Kickin Ash BBQ Competition.
