March Activities @ the Chamber of Commerce

March Calendar Filling Up 

 Cameron County Chamber of Commerce & Artisan Center hosting a plethora of classes and seminars during the month of March. Details of the events can be found at the community calendar on the chamber web page www.cameroncountychamber.org.

Each Tuesday night in the month the chamber is open from 6:30-9:00pm for shopping and an opportunity to gather with knitters and those that love to crochet. Newbies are invited to learn the craft using donated yarn and hooks/needles.

The chamber hosts the Cameron County Girl Scout troops throughout the year. On Saturday March 10, the scouts will be hosting a tea at 10am. Cookie sales will continue at the chamber office.

Sunday March 11 classes return to the artisan center. Sally Azzato will teach a decoupage class featuring blending of colors. The class is $20 and includes all materials. The class runs from 1:30-3:00pm.

Monday March 12, Jessica Herzing will continue the Ask an Accountant series. Herzing will be available from 6:00-7:30pm at the chamber office. On this day the Emporium Hitmen organization will unveil their basket give away. Baskets will be on display at the chamber through March 19 when a benefit bingo is planned at the VFW Club.

 Thursday March 15 at 1:00pm Drug and Alcohol hosting a free seminar regarding drugs in the work place. Presenters will discuss signs and the legal rights of employers.

Saturday March 17 3D printing phenomenal will be front and center at the artisan center. Artist Emily Dubel will demonstrate the machines and discuss the future of art using the machines. Currently Dubel sells cookie cutters created by 3D printers from antibacterial plastic material. Some of her jewelry designs have also been created using the latest technology. The demonstration begins at 11:00am.

Sunday March 18 drop in at the artisan center for egg decorating. The cost is $5 and you will take home 6 plastic eggs you decorate using Dixie Belle paint products. No registration needed.

Beginning Monday March 19 and lasting for the next 3 Monday’s, Gini Schager will teach basic quilting and beyond. The first class will include a trip to a fabric store, where students will pick out their own fabric to complete a lap quilt. Students pay the $25 instructor fee plus costs for the material. Registration is available online at www.cameroncountychamber.org.

Saturday March 24 the Easter Bunny returns to Cameron County. Breakfast with the Bunny will be held at the Emporium Volunteer Fire Department. It benefits the Weekend in the Wilds Fireworks set to blast off July 7, 2018. Included with the price of breakfast is the opportunity to have a picture with the bunny and a make it take it craft.
