Christmas In The Wilds


Christmas in the Wilds on Saturday December 9 will feature a Yuletide Caroling Contest at 1:00pm in downtown Emporium. Individuals and groups encouraged to take the stage and sing carols. A panel of judges will select the winners. This event is just one of several additions to the holiday celebrations in Cameron County.


Starting this weekend and continuing through December 16 Santa and his elves will set up shop in downtown Emporium at the Pennsylvania North Pole location. Elves will be available each Saturday to wrap presents from 10-noon. Santa will visit the shop from 1-3

. On Friday December 8, the North Pole will be one of the stops at the Holiday House Tour which will feature Squares for Charity. The squares created by members of the Cameron County Quilters will be showcased at Guy and Mary Felt Manor. The quilts are ready to hang or used as a table topper. Proceeds from the silent bids will go to the quilters’ charity of choice.

 Paws & Claus Pet Supply is the stop for the coloring contest. Santa will select the winners and prizes will come from the North Pole.

Tickets for the Holiday House Tour on Friday December 8 are limited. They are $15 each and include a stop at Flowers N Things Open House, the North Pole, Guy and Mary Felt Manor, two homes and conclude at Aroma CafĂ© for appetizers, dessert and samples from Bearded Brewing. 

Voting on the house decorating contest sponsored by L& M Lumber begins Friday December 8 and continues through Saturday December 16. Ballots will be available in the local newspapers, Facebook and at both the chamber office and L& M Lumber.

Santa will start Saturday with breakfast at the Emporium Fire Hall with the Auxiliary. Adults can eat for $5 and children $3. Downtown vendors will set up with Santa’s reindeer. Saturday night the event continues with the Emporium Community Dance at the Cameron County Vets at 8pm. Information on any of the activities can be obtained from the chamber office at 34 East Fourth Street Emporium.
