Shop Local Made Easier

The words are bantered about “shop local”, but why and how?

The why is because local merchants make donations to local organizations. Dealing with an out of town owner is often difficult to reach and corporate policy sometimes places restrictions. For every dollar spent at a local hardware, grocery, or retail shop 45 cents comes back to the community.
Purchase it elsewhere and 15 cents comes back, and if you purchase online, no money comes back locally.

The how just got easier. Saturday November 28 is Shop Small Saturday.

A number of retail shops will participate hosting special sales and activities. To help you pick out the perfect gift, the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce web site at www.cameroncountychamber.org is offering a gift buying section.
Each week gifts made by artists in the region will be featured. They can be purchased using the online store, or reserved with a phone call for pick up.
This season shop local and keep the money local.
