Rebecca L. Haynes

Rebecca L. Haynes, 21, of Bradford, PA, formerly of Emporium, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday evening, June 7, 2025.

Born August 14, 2003 in DuBois, PA, she was the beloved daughter of Scott and Jaime (Miller) Haynes of Emporium.

Known to many as Becca, she was a vibrant and free spirit who lived life on her own terms. She worked as a waitress at several local restaurants, where her outgoing personality and big heart left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Above all, Becca’s greatest joy in life was her daughter, Remington “Remi” Milne, of Bradford. Remi was the center of her world—her pride, her light, and the heartbeat of her every day. She poured her love, strength, and dreams into being a mother.

Becca also shared a deep and loving bond with her siblings—Kimberly Smith, Harley Haynes, Susan Haynes, and Alistair Haynes. She was a fiercely loyal sister, always ready to stand by them with laughter, encouragement, or comfort.

In addition to her parents and daughter, she is survived by her boyfriend, Devin Milne of Bradford; her maternal grandmother, Michele Myers of Emporium; and her paternal grandmother, Susan Hahn Haynes of Sinnamahoning.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Myers; paternal grandfather, Charles Haynes; and her brother, Alex Smith.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA, on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM, with Bob Spaeth officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with final expenses.

Online Condolences may be placed at www.BarnettFuneralHome.net

Emporium Rotary Club Evening Meeting Presentation

Emporium Rotary Club
This week during our evening meeting, Rotarian Barry Brown, gave a presentation about the restoration of his 1945 Ford GPW Jeep. He completed this project with his father and uncle and the total time took about 2 years due to delays in getting parts during COVID. He shared a brief history of the Jeep including the highly debated origin of its name. Some say the word "Jeep" comes from the abbreviation GP (General Purpose vehicle) and others say it comes from the Popeye character, Eugene the Jeep, which had the ability to go anywhere - much like the Jeeps of the time. Barry brought his Jeep to show the group and share its many features - gas tank under the seat, manual wiper blades, memory plaque, and more!

They also enjoyed swimming in the Caribbean, kayaking, yoga and learning Caribbean dance moves.

CC Farmers Market - Food Truck Feature - GypsyWagon FoodTruck !

Cameron County Farmers Market
FOOD TRUCK FEATURE: GYPSY WAGON IS ROLLIN’ INTO TOWN!

Get ready to spice up your Saturday at the Cameron County Farmers Market with the deliciously unique GypsyWagon FoodTruck !

We’re thrilled to welcome Kelly Carver and her crew to the square this Saturday, June 14, and trust us, you’ll want to arrive hungry!

Kelly’s story is as flavorful as her cooking. After losing all her jobs in a single day during the Covid shutdowns in New Orleans, she came home to St. Marys in 2020 to be with family and turned a challenge into an opportunity - launching the Gypsy Wagon Food Truck on a whim. Inspired by years of living in the South, Kelly infused her menu with the rich, soulful, make-your-tastebuds-dance flavors that New Orleans cuisine is known for. And her customers loved it!

The food truck was a big success and is now rolling into its 6th year, serving up Southern favorites at festivals, markets, and fairs all over the region. If you haven’t had the pleasure yet, this is your chance to savor a true taste of the South, right here in Emporium!

New Orleans food is a true melting pot, blending Creole, Cajun, French, African, and Spanish influences into dishes that are bold, hearty, and absolutely unforgettable. And Kelly brings that same energy right to our little town.

On the menu: • JAMBALAYA – a Louisiana classic with shrimp, chicken, sausage, peppers, onions, and seasoned tomato rice. It’s smoky, savory, and full of soul.
• STREET CORN – grilled corn with a kick, tossed with paprika, mayo, cilantro, and topped with crumbled feta. A street-food staple with a Southern twist
• CHICKEN BACON RANCH FRIES – crispy fries loaded with chicken, bacon, ranch, and green onions, comfort food at its finest.
• CHICKEN BACON RANCH HOAGIE – grilled chicken, smoked Cooper cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato & ranch, all tucked into a warm toasted hoagie roll
• FUNNEL CAKES– golden, crispy, and drizzled with maple syrup for that sweet finish
• SOFT PRETZELS – a perfect grab-and-go snack
• BREAKFAST SPECIAL – it's a surprise!

While Kelly is the heart of the kitchen, she’s quick to give credit to her amazing team, Kayli Zubeck and her boyfriend Mike Guisto, who help keep the wheels turning and the food flying. Planning a party or private event? Kelly will work with you to create a custom menu full of flavor, flair, and just the right amount of Southern soul to make your gathering extra special. You can contact her at 206-856-1498 to make a booking.

So grab your shopping bags and your appetite and head to the Emporium Town Square this Saturday, June 14 from 9am - 12pm for bold flavors, big smiles, and all the local vibes.
See you there!

Celtic Flair at Saturdays Farmers Market

Cameron County Farmers Market
🎻✨ Add a little Celtic flair to your Saturday morning! ✨💃
We’re so excited to welcome the incredibly talented Essy Brackbill to the Cameron County Farmers Market stage this weekend, Saturday, June 14th, at the Emporium Town Square!

If you’ve never seen traditional Irish dance in person, now’s your chance!
Known for its rapid, rhythmic footwork and upright posture, Irish dance has deep roots in Celtic history.
It dates back centuries and was originally performed at community gatherings, social dances, and local celebrations. Over time, it evolved into a globally recognized art form, blending storytelling, cultural pride, and competitive sport—all set to the spirited sounds of fiddles, flutes, and bodhráns.
And speaking of spirited performances…

Essy Brackbill, just 15 years old, is a rising star in the world of Irish dance! Encouraged by her Irish-heritage father, Jarred, she began dancing at just 3 years old—and it was love at first step. Her early performances with Rebel Heart Irish Dancers gave her confidence on stage, and by 7 years old she was dancing at Irish festivals and entering competitions.

Since the age of 10, Essy has been training under the guidance of the Carraig School Of Irish Dance, where she’s dedicated countless hours to mastering the precision, speed, and athleticism the tradition demands. Her hard work has paid off, Essy has placed in several competitions over the years, including taking 1st place at Nationals just last year! 🏆

Whether she’s quick-stepping, toe-tapping, or high-kicking across the stage, Essy’s performances are absolutely mesmerizing. Her dream is to one day compete in Ireland, the birthplace of this beloved tradition, but for now, we’re lucky to have her light up our local stage with talent, energy, and passion.

Catch one of her three performances between 9am and 12pm this Saturday and stick around to enjoy everything else the market has to offer—fresh produce, handmade crafts, delicious food, and local community spirit! You won’t want to miss this special blend of tradition, talent, and hometown pride.
The next Farmers Market is Saturday, June 14th, downtown Emporium.
