We're thrilled to announce that our library is testing out a fine-free policy now through November 30, 2025! 📚✨
In an effort to create more equitable access to resources for everyone, we've joined an increasing number of libraries across the country in adopting a fine-free policy.
No more daily fines for late returns!
However, PATRONS WILL STILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH LOST, DAMAGED, OR LONG OVERDUE (MORE THAN 30 DAYS) MATERIALS.
As the American Library Association (ALA) states in its 2019 resolution, “monetary fines create a barrier to the provision of library and information services” and eliminating fines supports equitable access, especially for "low-income individuals, who are most affected by overdue fines.” 💙📖
