Legal Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Cameron County Board of Commissioners will consider adoption of the following summarized Ordinance at its regular monthly meeting to be held on September 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., at the Driftwood Senior Center located at 7806 Bridge Street, Driftwood, PA 15832. The intent and a summary of the proposed Ordinance is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF CAMERON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, PURSUANT TO ACT 48 OF 2024, ESTABLISHING A COUNTY DEMOLITION AND REHABILITATION FUND AND IMPOSING A FEE TO BE COLLECTED BY THE CAMERON COUNTY TAX CLAIM BUREAU FROM PURCHASERS AT SALES UNDER THE REAL ESTATE TAX SALE LAW AND BY THE CAMERON COUNTY SHERIFF FROM JUDICIAL SALES IN MORTGAGE FORECLOSURE ACTIONS; DEFINING TERMS; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, REPEALER AND EFFECTIVE DATE.

Effective January 1, 2025, a Cameron County Demolition and Rehabilitation Fund shall be established and thereafter funded by the imposition and collection of a two hundred fifty dollar ($250.00) fee from each and every purchaser of real property from or through any and all upset tax sales, judicial sales, private sales, or repository sales conducted by the Cameron County Tax Claim Bureau, or any sales of real property conducted by the Office of the Cameron County Sheriff in connection with mortgage foreclosure actions. Funds deposited and maintained shall be administered by the Cameron County Commissioners, including the use of such funds and the procedure for eligibility and making application by third parties for such funding.

The full text of the proposed Ordinance is available for inspection at the Cameron County Commissioners’ Office, 1st floor of the Cameron County Courthouse, 20 East Fifth Street, Emporium, PA 15834, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding designated holidays. ____
