If anyone is free this Sunday, July 14th and would like to volunteer to help in the massive project of reclaiming the Sizerville State Park butterfly gardens we will be meeting between 9-9:30am at the environmental learning building.
These butterfly gardens were originally established by Lisa Bainey when she was a seasonal environmental educator at the park. Over the years these gardens have been reduced and neglected.
In memory of Lisa and her dedication to PA State Parks we would like to reestablish a variety of native wildflowers for pollinators and park visitors to enjoy. Unfortunately, at this point that means basically starting over and rebuilding the garden beds "from the ground up".
All help is welcome, and no prior gardening experience is required!
