Cameron County's First Female Coroner Sworn In

December 28,2023, I was sworn in as Cameron County’s first ever female coroner. Thank you to everyone that has supported me and helped me get here.
Emily replaces Ted Walters who has served our county as coroner for 36 years.

(I'd like to repost Emily's response to everyone who supported her at the election 5/17/23)
Thank you to everyone who supported me in some way during this election whether it was signing my petition, letting me put my sign in your yard, campaigning for me or voting for me in the election.
Thank you to Ted Walters (and Darlene) for guiding me along the way and teaching me so much.
Thank you to Ted and Justin Zimmer for their endorsements.
Thank you to Joe Uber Aubrey and Elena for dealing with me over the past few months.
Thank you to my fellow deputy (and soon to be chief deputy coroner) Vince Hornung.
Thank you to the Driftwood and Emporium Senior Centers for allowing me to come speak to your members about my campaign.
Thank you to my mom (for everything she has done for me) and my grandmother Marion Swank Mary Lou Pearsall and Marsha Polites Lamont and Ed for standing at the polls for me.
Thank you to Sally Garman, Fred Burne for your extra help and Brenda Park Munz for answering my million questions. I am forever grateful for each one of you.
