Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend

Program Title: Outdoor Trek
Date: Saturday, September 9 th
Time: 3:00 – 4:30 PM
Location: Pavilion 3
Description: Join the park educator to go on a nature walk on the Bottomlands
Trail at Sizerville State Park. A nature craft, such as leaf rubbings, will occur after
our walk through the woods. Wear sturdy shoes and feel free to bring snacks and
water.
*This program will help Girl Scouts fulfill some of the requirements for the
Outdoor Art Maker, Creator, or Explorer Badge*

Program Title: Owl Prowl
Date: Saturday, September 9th
Time: 8:00 – 9:30 PM
Location: Campground Amphitheater
Description: Come out to the amphitheater to learn about these creatures of the
night. Short talk on owls, followed by a walk on the Campground Trail to see if we
can hear or see these raptors! Feel free to bring a flashlight, water, and
binoculars.
*This program will help Girl Scouts fulfill some of the requirements for the
Night Owl Badge*

Program Title: Insect Investigation
Date: Sunday, September 10 th
Time: 1:30 – 2:30 PM
Location: Environmental Learning Center
Description: Did you know there are over 90,000 species of insects in the United
States? Do you know what an insect’s daily job is and how important they are for
our survival? Come to this program and find out, along with making a bug craft to
take home!
*This program will help Girl Scouts fulfill some of the requirements for the Eco
Learner or Bugs Badge*

In case of thunder, lightning, or extreme weather conditions programs may be moved or
cancelled.
