Daryl R. Richardson, 49, of Emporium, PA passed away at Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday (August 30, 2023) afternoon following a lengthy illness. He was born April 9, 1974 in Johnstown, PA a son of Patricia McCloskey Richardson, Windber, PA and the late Doran Richardson. On September 2, 2005 in Emporium, PA he married Tracy Szemes, who survives.
Daryl graduated from Forest Hills High School in a class of 1992 and then went on to serve for four years with the US Marine Corps. Daryl was employed in the telecommunications industry- Adelphia Communications, Time Warner Cable, and Charter Communications. Most recently he was employed with the Cameron County School District as the director of technology. Daryl was always willing to help anyone with any task, no matter how big or small. He was the most easy-going person and was loved by everyone he came in contact with. His passion was his family.His goal in life was to make his wife and kids happy, which he did with great success!. His faith in God helped him get through his illnesses. He was loved beyond words by is children, wife, family, and friends.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by a daughter, Madison Richardson and son, Cooper Richardson, both at home; sons, Alex Reed (Chandra), Emporium; Cori Reed (Lori), Emporium and Ryan Reed (Keri), Emporium; two grandchildren: Sheamus and Avery; sister, Sharon Richardson, Windber, PA; brother, Douglas (Tracy) Richardson, Chardon, OH; sister, Shelly Richardson, Elton, PA; brother, Daniel Richardson, Davidsville, PA; sister, Susan (James) Harold, Portage, PA; three sister-in-laws, Karen McManigle (David), Emporium; Christine Williams, Bloomfield Hills, MI; Debra Belin (Scott), Emporium as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was was preceded in death by his father, a son, Alexander Richardson; brother, Doran Richardson, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Stanley and Mary McCloskey; paternal grandparents, Harry and Fern Richardson; brother-in-laws, Jesse and Stephen Szemes, Jr.,
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Tuesday (September 5, 2023) at 12:00 PM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:45 AM.
Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA where a military service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
