Environmental Education Programs for Labor Day Weekend

Program Title: Pollinator Garden Workday
Date: Saturday, September 2 nd
Time: 3:00 – 4:30 PM
Location: Environmental Learning Center
Description: Come out and help the park educator along with some other local
volunteers work on the pollinator gardens outside of the Environmental Learning
Center. We will be pulling weeds, cutting bushes, and giving these gardens some
much needed TLC! Some garden tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your
own, a water bottle, and sunscreen/bug spray! Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

Program Title: Poolside Powwow (Last one for the season!)
Date: Saturday, September 2 nd
Time: 5:00 PM
Location: Pool Deck
Description: Take a break from the pool, grab a snack or ice cream, and join the
park educator for a short impromptu program. The topic will be revealed at the
powwow, so come join us and see!

Program Title: Wild About Elk
Date: Saturday, September 2 nd
Time: 8:00 – 9:30 PM
Location: Campground Amphitheater
Description: Have you got the chance to see an elk while on your trip here in the
PA Wilds? Come out to this program and learn all the details about elk and how
they were reintroduced back into this area. Short talk followed by a movie – feel
free to bring snacks and a blanket!

Program Title: Sizerville’s Splish Splash Bash!
Date: Monday, September 4 th
Time: 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Location: Pool Deck
Description: Join the lifeguard team and the park educator for a fun, aquatic-
themed program since this is the last day for the pool. You will have the chance
to learn about and see some reptiles and amphibians up close! There will also be
a fishy activity and snacks as well. Come join us as we close out the summer 2023
season – hope to see you there!

Additional Information:
In case of thunder, lightning, or extreme weather conditions programs may be moved or
cancelled.

With a minimum of one week notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing
are available for educational programs.
