Hometown Sports Hall of Fame has announced the names of the 2023 class of inductees into the Cameron County Sports Hometown Hall of Fame.
The class of 2023 is comprised of six scholar-athletes from Cameron County who have achieved significant accomplishments after graduating from Cameron County High School.
Joining the Hall of Fame will be Pat Lewis, Kevin Genevro, Mike Grippo, Kathy Leavitt Dolan, Kathy Vassallo and Andy Lippert.
Pat Lewis - Class of 1973
Pat has been nominated for his coaching abilities. It has been said by many of his players and colleagues that Pat puts youth first and instills positive attitudes in everyone he has ever coached.
Kevin Genevro - Class of 1976
Kevin has been nominated for his natural ability to participate in any sport and excel while doing it.
Mike Grippo - Class of 1977
Mike has been nominated for his outstanding ability on the gridiron. It has been said that he is one of the best running backs to play at Cameron County.
Kathy Leavitt Dolan - Class of 1983
Nominated for being the first female athlete to advance to State Championship Competition for track and still holds three school records.
Kathy Vassallo - Class of 1984
Kathy was nominated for her outstanding athletic ability and excelling at every sport she participated in.
Andy Lippert - Class of 2010
Nominated for being an amazing running back and track star. It’s been said that Andy was exciting to watch and always gave 110 percent.

I know my time will come for induction. I was 7-0 senior year. After my departure the team began to lose. Had I decided to continue to play we would have finished the season undefeated and won the state championship.
