PennDOT to Replace Cameron County Box Culvert
06/06/2023
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting area motorists that a Cameron County Box Culvert replacement project will begin Thursday, June 15.
Spanning Tower Run Creek on Route 4001 (Old West Creek Road) in Shippen Township, the structure is 10 feet long and carries an average of 137 vehicles daily. Replacing the box culvert will improve its rating from poor to good.
Starting next Thursday, PennDOT will close this section of Route 4001 and a detour using Route 120 will be in place. The closure and detour are expected to be in effect through July 6. Residents along Route 4001 will be able to access their homes during the closure.
This project is a partnership effort between PennDOT Cameron County Maintenance and LTT Trucking, LLC of North Bend, PA. PennDOT will perform site preparation, excavation, removal of the old box culvert, and backfill for the new box. The contractor will deliver the new box culvert, place it, and perform paving.
