The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library is excited to continue their Library Wizarding Days with a Wandmaking 101 Drop-in Craft where witches and warlocks can make their very own Harry Potter-style wand. The craft session will be on Thursday, October 20, 2022 between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., so come by any time within that window to make your wand.
Wandmaking 101 is open to all ages and no registration is needed.
A separate table with larger decorating items will be set up for our younger wizards to safely participate. This craft might not be suitable for children 4 and under as we are still working with a pointy stick, parents are advised to use their own discretion.
As the craft requires gluing on elements of the wand, participants will be able to leave their wands at the library to dry and pick them up the following day, or whenever they can make time to do so.
Library staff also want to thank everyone who participated in our Hogwarts House Sorting program by completing the questionnaires and joining us for the Sorting Hat Ceremony. All the participant photos have been posted to the library’s Hogwarts Wall in the juvenile area as well as the library Facebook page.
For questions about the program, call library staff at 814-486-8011 during the library’s regular business hours.
