Cameron County Farmers Market
Today I would like to highlight a very talented local baker, whose delicious baked goods most of you have hopefully already had the pleasure of sampling, the Aroma Cafe’s resident baker, Kristin Thomson!
Kristin got her baking career off to an early start at a very young age when she started making brownies to sell at her parents fresh corn stand. Their entrepreneurial spirit rubbed off on her and she grew this little side hustle into a thriving business by the time she was a teen, adding homemade cookies, banana bread, zucchini bread and peanut butter balls to her menu. She sold so many of these goodies at the corn stand, the local farmers market and in the teachers lounge during the school year that she saved up enough money to pay her way to Australia as an exchange student through the Rotary Club. Pretty impressive!
These days Kristin supplies the Aroma Cafe with muffins, scones, brownies, and other tasty treats as well as setting up a baking stall at local events like the Weekend in the Wild and Christmas in the Wilds.

Kristin joined us for the farmers market in August and her baked goods were a big hit!
She will be at the farmers market again this weekend, selling her scrumptious home-made granola, banana bread and pumpkin bread. You can also catch her at the All Fired Up Kickin’ Ash BBQ Contest next week as well.
Come on down to the Emporium Town Square, this Saturday 10th September, 9am to 1pm, to grab some of her home-baked treats for yourself!
We are very excited to welcome Kristin to the farmers market!
