CC Farmers Market Introduces David English

Cameron County Farmers Market

The biggest takeaway from our first market was that CamCo wants more fresh produce so we have been busy trying to track down and recruit more growers for you. We are very excited to introduce to you our third grower, David English, from Truman.

David has the most enchanting garden I think I’ve ever seen, it feels like you’re walking into a fairy garden with it’s quaint wooden fencing, it’s vine-draped archway and the profusion of colourful flowers decorating the outside. I was so impressed with the artistic vision he had in creating this beautiful haven as well as all the hard work and love he obviously poured into it to make it happen. Absolutely stunning!

And if the setting is gorgeous, so are his vegetables! He grows a large variety, from rhubarb and peppers to cabbage and corn but he specialises in pumpkins, squashes and gourds. These take up a lot of room but he has built a large enclosure that sprawls over his fields and houses huge beds containing everything from summer and winter squashes, watermelon, white and orange pumpkins to some very impressive giant pumpkins.

For the August market he will be offering a selection of his vegetables including tomatoes, onions and summer squash. Later in the season he will have plenty of pumpkins to sell so stay tuned!

We are thrilled to welcome David to our market!!
