Registration open 10am to 12pm 
 Located at Lewis and Hockenberry Sawmill,4725 Rich Valley Road Emporium PA 15834 The ride will begin at 12pm and end at 4pm. This event is open to members and guests and the cost is $10/Person Cookout immediately following at the last stop located on top of the mountain at the Sorg/Young Camp. Hamburgers and Hot Dogs provided, BYOB. If you have not paid your membership dues for the year, you can do this at the registration table. Sign up for a new membership at this event and receive a $10 discount. Annual General Membership meeting immediately following the event. By popular demand, Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library is bringing back their adult book club.
 Anyone interested in participating can register now through September 30. 

Anyone interested in participating can fill out this form sign up form and returning it to the library or a sign up sheet by picking one up at the library or by completing one online through the Library Programs page on their website. 

 Sessions will be held based on the dates preferred by patrons registering. Registration will continue through September 30, with our first Book Club sessions planned to start in late October. Library staff will choose the book titles based on participant interests/requests plus availability of titles. The library will also provide all supplemental questions/discussion prompts for the book club.

 After a long break and lots of requests, the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library is bringing back LEGO Club for our patrons ages 5-12. Anyone interested in participating can just show up for LEGO Club sessions every Tuesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The Club structure is a free-play format where children are encouraged to explore their imaginations by creating whatever their minds can conjure with LEGO pieces. Library Presents Wizarding Days: 
Celebration kicks off with Hogwarts House Sorting 

 The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library is excited to present their celebration of all things JK Rowling with Library Wizarding Days, going on now through the end of October. The celebration kicks off with a Hogwarts House Sorting program. All Wizarding Days events are open to all ages. 

Now through September 10, you can discover your Hogwarts House by completing the library’s House Sorting Questionnaire in person, or online by clicking on the “Library Programs” tab on the library website. 

 From September 12-17, the library will be having a Sorting Hat Ceremony. Those who filled out Questionnaires should be sure to stop by the library during regular business hours from September 12-17 for the Ceremony to discover which Hogwarts House the Sorting Hat chose for them.

Sinnemahoning State Park is offering something for everyone this Labor Day weekend, with programs ranging from antler scoring, to butterfly tagging, stargazing, boat rides, and more!

Saturday, September 3rd, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Measuring and Scoring Antlers. Discover how deer and elk antlers grow, what conditions make for the largest antlers, and how to measure them. Practice measuring elk antlers, and get some reference sheets to take home. Best for adults and older kids. Meet in the Wildlife Center Classroom.

Saturday, September 3rd, 2:00–3:00 PM
Monarch Watch Butterfly Tagging. Catch the monarch migration in action. Program starts indoors with a presentation on the migration and natural history of monarchs, then take a short walk to catch, tag, and release butterflies. Arial nets will be provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and be prepared to walk through fields. The tagging portion of the program will not take place in damp or rainy weather. All ages welcome. Meet in the Wildlife Center Classroom.

Saturday, September 3rd, 8:00–8:30 PM
September Skies of Sinnemahoning. Admire the wonder of the night sky with our astronomy and stargazing programs. Learn about the constellations, planets, and other night sky sightings visible throughout the month. All ages. Campground Amphitheater. This program is open to all visitors, even those not staying in the campground.

Saturday, September 3rd, 8:00–8:30 PM
September Stargazing. Experience the wonder of the park at night through a laser-guided tour of the night sky. Telescopes will be available if weather permits. Wildlife Viewing Area, one mile north of the park office and Wildlife Center.

Sunday, September 4th, 9:00-10:15 AM, 10:30-11:45 AM, 12:00-1:15 PM
Pontoon Tours of the Stevenson Dam. Join park staff for a fun and informative tour, as we cruise the shoreline of the George B. Stevenson Reservoir in search of wildlife. There is no fee for regular Sunday interpretive pontoon boat tours, but donations are requested. Group size is limited. Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended: https://events.dcnr.pa.gov/sinnemahoning_state_park/calendar. All ages and abilities welcome! Meet at the Lake Day Use Area.

Sunday, September 4th, 2:00-3:00 PM 
 Pioneer Skills. Try your hand at the old-fashioned skills of using a quill pen, making (and tasting) butter, and playing historical games. Materials provided, all ages. Meet at Pavilion 1 of the 40 Maples Day Use Area.

Sunday, September 4th, 8:00-9:45 PM
Austin Dam Disaster. Listen to a short talk by the park naturalist, followed by the documentary The Austin Dam Disaster narrated by Willie Nelson. Learn about one of the most dramatic dam failures in the historic United States, and how it affected the local and national communities. Movie runtime 90 minutes. This program is open to all visitors, even those not staying in the campground.

Sinnemahoning Accepting Vendor Applications for First Fork Festival

Sinnemahoning State Park is accepting applications for vendors and exhibitors for the 9th annual First Fork Festival, which will be held at the Wildlife Center on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The First Fork Festival celebrates the history and culture of the First Fork Sinnemahoning Valley, highlighting local authors, artists, craftmakers and artisans. Surrounded by glorious fall color at Sinnemahoning State Park, this event draws over 1000 visitors each year.

A limited number of vendor spaces are available. Vendor spaces will be granted based on criteria, including, but not limited to past participation in the First Fork Festival, proximity to and relationship with the First Fork Valley and the PA Wilds, hand-made or personally crafted products, uniqueness and quality of product, and relevance of product to history and culture theme of the festival.

The vendor fee is $20.00 per exhibit space for early-bird registration paid by August 31, 2022. Fee is $30.00 per space if paid on or after September 1. All applications and payments must be received no later than Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Mega Truck Showdown
 Saturday, October 1, 2022 @ 12 pm 89 Sizer Run Rd, Emporium, PA 15834 Mega truck race will consist of 4 pit course with a $1,500 1st place prize for fastest time. Small trucks are welcome to come and play in the pits after the race. Admission is $10 for spectators and $15 for drivers entering a vehicle. There will be food vendors and drinks available for purchase.
