Local Artist Continuing to Give Back
Nearly one year ago Cameron County artist John Sidelinger approached the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce & Artisan Center wanting the proceeds from the sale of his artwork to the Cameron County Ambulance Association. This week Sidelinger presented the organization with a check totaling more than $1100.00.
Sidelinger is not finished giving back. This year Sidelinger will donate the proceeds to the Emporium Volunteer Fire Department. The former Elk State Forest forester specializes in wildlife and after a visit to the zoo with family, has begun to paint animal portraits of gorillas, tigers, lions and other zoo inhabitants.
Sidelinger expressed concern over funding for the fire department. All sales through the end of the year will be given to the fire department. His originals are available for purchase at the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce & Artisan Center. The facility is open Monday through Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-2pm
