Cameron County Farmers Market

We have been working hard to scout out and recruit more growers for our market and we are very happy to be able to welcome Mike Thomson to our team of vendors!
Mike has done amazing things in the limited space of his backyard. He has created a collection of raised beds which are bursting with healthy plants of all types. He likes to be able to offer variety, so he plants many different types of each vegetable. Not only will he have red tomatoes but also yellow and orange, plus cherry tomatoes for the snack size! He has green, red and yellow pepper plants, yellow squash and zucchini, beets, beans, cucumbers and more.
He, like all of us, has been struggling through this drought we have been hit with this summer, but he has become a master at conserving water and makes every drop count. The success he has had despite the water shortages is impressive! You can tell he pours a lot of love into his garden, and we are so excited that he has offered to share his bounty with the community!
Stop by to pick up some of Mike’s delicious produce for yourself at our pop-up vegetable stall tomorrow, 9am at the Emporium Town Square. We will also be selling some of Randy & Pam’s vegetables as well as some from our own garden.
And if you’re in a blueberry kind of mood Linda Slyder will be joining us with some freshly picked berries!
Don’t miss out and come early!
