This weekend @ Sizerville State Park
On Friday, July 8th from 3-4pm the Park Naturalist is hosting a leaf printing activity at Sizerville’s playground across from Pavilion #4.
Friday evening from 8-9pm Sizerville State Park is hosting an educational short film on White-tailed Deer of Pennsylvania! The film will be held at Sizerville’s campground amphitheater.
Saturday July 9th from 3-4pm. Join the park Naturalist at Sizerville State Park as we do a program on live amphibians. The program will be held at Sizerville’s campground amphitheater.
Saturday evening from 8-9pm Sizerville State Park is hosting an educational short film on birds of prey. Learn about the reintroduction of bald eagles, peregrine falcons, and barn owls back to Pennsylvania. Understand how their populations declined as well as the game commission’s success story to bring them back. The film will be held at Sizerville’s campground amphitheater.
Sunday morning July 10th 9:30-10:30am the Park Naturalist at Sizerville State Park is hosting a natural history walk on the bottomlands trail. The walk will start at Pavilion #3 and span for roughly 1.5 miles, participants should wear sturdy shoes or boots.
The Little Museum is Open for the 2022 Season
Scheduled museum hours will be Saturday & Sunday from 1-4 pm.

Programs This Week at Sinnemahoning State Park
This weekend Sinnemahoning State Park educators are offering something for everyone, with an indoor history presentation, butterfly catching, and an evening kayak paddle on Saturday, and Pontoon boat tours on Sunday.
Saturday, July 9, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Stories of Our Past: History of the First Fork Valley.
Learn about the early wilderness of Cameron and Potter counties and the people who explored and lived in the First Fork Valley. PowerPoint presentation for adults & older children, indoors in the Wildlife Center Classroom.
Saturday, July 9, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Butterflies of Cameron County.
Short talk followed by a walk to the meadows to catch and release butterflies. Walk will be approx. 1/2 mile over weedy, uneven terrain. Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. For kids and grown-up kids-at-heart! Butterfly nets provided. Meet in Wildlife Center Classroom before heading outdoors.
Saturday, July 9, 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM, Supermoon Lake Paddle.
Spend an evening kayaking the lake as we observe the night sky and discuss July’s super moon and other astronomical events. Experienced kayakers only. Bring your own kayak or borrow one from the park. Group size limited. Pre-registration required. Meet at Lake Day Use Area.
Sunday, July 10, 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM & 12:00 PM, Pontoon Boat Tours.
Join park staff for a relaxing and informative tour of the George B. Stevenson Dam reservoir. Program time 1 hour 15 minutes. Program is free; donations are requested. Life vests and binoculars provided. All ages welcome. 3 tours each day. Reservations are strongly recommended. Meet at boat launch of Lake Day Use Area.

25th Annual QIDC 100 Mile Yard Sale
July 15-July 16
The Quehanna Industrial Development Corporation will be holding the 25th Annual QIDC 100 Mile Yard Sale this year on July 15 and 16, 2022. This event runs from Shawville to Medix Run and From Weedville to Sinnemahoning. There are several small towns along the route.

Cameron County Galactic Running Festival
Saturday, Sept 10 - Sunday, Sept 11
Come experience life in small town America in the heart of the PA Wilds. Run with us during the day while enjoying some of the most amazing night skies in the evening! With an event for everyone, this is a weekend you don't want to miss! This is the perfect weekend runcation!
Traditional events include a 5k, 10k, and half marathon. Additionally, we are teaming up with Rich Valley Wines to bring you a beer garden that will feature local craft beer, wine, and hand crafted cocktail's from local distilleries.
We will also be having a beer/wine mile run. We are still working out the details but your experience will include drinking a cup of beer or wine during an out and back run.
A fun, non-timed 1 mile glow run/walk will also take place on the railtrail in the evening that will be a blast for all ages. After a day of races and/or adventuring through the town, join us for a fun evening with music and glow sticks as we enjoy the beautiful night sky!

Registration Open for Annual David Hutton Memorial 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk
David Hutton Memorial Fund
It's that time of year again - registration is open!
Details of the race here-
The David Hutton Memorial Fund is a scholarship to benefit local scholar athletes in Cameron, Elk, Potter, and McKean counties. We host a 5K run and 2-Mile walk the third Saturday in August to benefit the scholarship fund.
