Cameron County Community Chest 2022 Fund Drive June Update

As of June 17th, we have collected $17,126 toward our $17,500 fund drive goal. Thanks to all who have contributed. It is really appreciated in these uncertain times. We will keep the 2022 Fund Drive open until September 30, 2022.

This month’s featured organization will be the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library is an organization that helps to maintain the many important services of The Barbara Moscato Brown Public Library.

To generate needed funding, the Friends has an annual Membership Drive during the summer and “Donate and Say Happy Holidays” during November and December. Throughout the year, book related auctions and book related themed baskets also add funding.

The funds generated to add to library finances include: Supporting free services such as the public computer stations, free internet, copying, faxing and laminating Helps provide the latest materials for reading, listening, and viewing Present public programs for children and adults Add needed shelving and other furnishings. Maintain the library building including exterior, interior, and the multi-purpose room Enhance children’s programs, including Story Hour and Summer Reading, Lego Club, and much much more Support the Emporium Garden Club members who decorate the library throughout the year and also maintain exterior plantings

The Barbara Moscato Brown Library gives patrons the opportunity to access much via the internet, e-books, magazines, classes, and much more. Information on access can be obtained through the library web site of by visiting the library.
