Shane S. Cheatle

 

Shane S. Cheatle, 37, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of Washington Street, St. Marys, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a lengthy illness.

He was born on August 14, 1984, in Warren, PA, a son of Charles Cheatle of St. Marys and Susan Nasoni Wolfel of Emporium.

On September 24, 2011, he married Mary Challingsworth, who survives of St. Marys. Together they shared more than 10 years of love and friendship.

Shane was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, class of 2004. He worked for a number of years as a mechanic at Sylvania and Metaldyne. He was a member of the CMF and PFL.

A talented mechanic, Shane was a bit of a motorhead who loved working on cars. He also liked spending time outdoors, especially hunting and gardening. He greatly enjoyed cooking and spending time with his dog, Joplin.

Having learned how to play the bass guitar, he was a big fan of music, especially Metallica. Armed with a heart of gold and his good nature, Shane befriended everyone he met, making a lasting impact on those around him. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness and the love he shared with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother; Susan Wolfel and her husband Paul of Emporium, his father; Charles Cheatle and his wife Michelle of St. Marys, and his beloved wife; Mary Challingsworth Cheatle, he is survived by a brother; Corey (Hannah) Cheatle of St. Marys, a half-sister; Taylor Suthard of St. Marys, and by eight nieces and nephews; Braden, Ethan, Eva, Kaden, Wyatt, Jayna, Sophia, and Sebastian. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Lewis and Alice Nasoni, paternal grandparents; Charles and Martha Cheatle, 3 uncles; Terry Nasoni, Jack Cheatle, and Chris Cheatle; and an aunt; Lois Nasoni.

A Memorial Service for Shane S. Cheatle will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Ross Miceli officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pinecrest Manor Activities Fund.
