Super Load Travel Update

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)

A 213-foot-long, 294-ton #SuperLoad starts its over 400-mile trek from West Milton, New York, to Wampum, Pennsylvania. The travel plan involves 16 counties and will feature ramp maneuvers, unusual traffic patterns, and slow-moving vehicles.

Drivers along the planned route should remain alert for this two-lane operation.

SUPERLOAD TRAVEL UPDATE: The superload will continue its journey after 10:00 P.M. today and travel I-80 through Luzerne, Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, and Union counties.

PennDOT expects the superload to arrive at the I-80 Loganton rest area early on Saturday morning.

It will continue travelling after 10:00 p.m. Saturday, moving west through Clinton, Centre, and Clearfield counties and into Elk County.
It is not scheduled to drive through Cameron County but you could encounter it in Elk county.

The superload is moving as a rolling slowdown using two traffic lanes which will result in traffic stoppages and travel delays. The majority of the transport, currently scheduled to be completed on January 21, will take place during nighttime hours. Movement could be impacted or delayed by winter weather. Perkins Specialized Transportation Contracting of Becker, Minnesota will transport the load.
