Important Announcements for library patrons in 2022
December 11, 2021
The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library continues its efforts to update and grow the library in 2022. This includes an updated website, launched in 2021, and now a new set of contact emails. The library will also be reinstating fines, which were suspended through 2020 and 2021.
The new emails, now active, will be separated into two categories. All book loan, genealogy and research questions, and general inquiries about library programs or services should go to the library clerk at info@barbaramoscatobrownlibrary.org.
Anyone who needs to reach the librarian directly regarding running programs, invoicing, serious concerns, and other issues the librarian needs to address personally can now be sent to librarian@barbaramoscatobrownlibrary.org.
We will be switching to using these exclusively beginning January 1, 2022.
Also beginning on the first of the year, the library’s standard late fees for checked out materials will be reinstated.
“We had suspended all late fees as a courtesy to patrons during COVID lockdown and have continued to do so for as long as possible,” said Librarian, Yelena Kisler. Fees will once again be $.25 per day for late books and magazines, and $1 per day for late DVDs.
As always, materials can be renewed easily by calling staff 814-486-8011, or online by going to https://barbaramoscatobrownlibrary.org/ and clicking on Card Catalog where you can reserve and renew your materials with your patron barcode number. You can even message them on social media (Facebook or Instagram) to renew your books or dvds. It’s that easy!
