U.F.O' Christmas Tree Event

Wrapping up an already festive day in the Cameron County, the Recreation Center and the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library are hosting a joint Christmas program entitled “U.F. O' Christmas Tree” to kick off the holiday season.

Join us December 4th starting at 3pm at the Recreation Center for a Christmas cookie exchange. Please see the Cameron County Recreation Center's Facebook page for rules and sign-up for that event.

At 4pm in the conference room at the Recreation Center is hosting a wreath making workshop. This event is open to the first 25 people who show up and will allow kids of all ages the opportunity to create their own holiday wreath.

At 5:30pm, if you're child completed the Holiday Book Gift Giving request form, gifted books will be distributed. The Holiday Book Gift Giving form can be obtained at both the Recreation Center and the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library.

Starting at 5pm, there will be a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony with a live choir concert performing all your favorite Holiday. Then, at 6pm, the Cameron County Recreation Center's Christmas Tree will be lit. This tree will contain hand-made ornaments created and crafted by local children throughout the county.

The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library will be hosting an ugly sweater contest starting at 6:30pm in the game room at the Recreation Center. If you would like to create your own Ugly Sweater, The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library will be hosting a workshop on Saturday November 27th from noon until 2pm. Sweaters will be available to decorate on a first come first serve basis. Immediately following the Ugly Sweater Contest, The Alien Elf will join us and read their favorite interstellar Christmas story.

At 7:30pm, in the game room at the Recreation Center, join us as we screen the 1964 family friendly Holiday cult classic film “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians”. Starring an extremely young Pia Zadora, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians tells the story of how Christmas was almost ruined when Santa Claus was kidnapped by Martians.

In the event the Recreation Center reaches capacity, over flow will be directed to the back room at the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library.
