Rotarian, John Rosenberger, (left) hosted guest speakers Jerry Sasala (middle) & Bill Floyd at the Rotary luncheon meeting July 13th. Jerry spoke of the history of his barn, well over 100 years old, located at 1477 Cowley Hill Road in Austin, that was unable to be salvaged, but was recently rebuilt on the original foundation by a group of Amish gentlemen. The beautiful barn is the site of 3 weddings, a prom and graduation parties this summer.
The gentlemen thought that after the COVID lockdown, it would be a great opportunity to have an event at the barn to uplift and bring the community together. They will be hosting a free southern gospel concert featuring The Down East Boys and The Tom Walker Family Saturday, August 21st, at 6:00 pm with food trucks at 5:00 pm offering meals for purchase. They also hope to have a bonfire afterwards. Venders are welcome and if you would like to make a donation, an account “Harmony in the Hills” has been set up at the Mountain Laurel Federal Credit Union.
