Eileen Eva Maria Griffith-Lupro, 74 of Arch Drive Emporium, PA passed away at UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA on Thursday morning (May 13, 2021). She was born October 15, 1946 in Salzburg, Austria. Her father Randall Griffith was stationed with the US Army in Europe where he met and married Elizabeth Gebauer, a German war bride. After eight months they came to Homer City, PA where Eileen became the youngest person of Indiana County to become a naturalized citizen. She gave her loving parents credit for the person she was in her formative years and Jesus for the person she became. They moved to Emporium shortly before she started school. She managed a beauty salon and worked her magic on many patrons for 46 years. Those years were special and provided a way to show her love and enthusiasm in serving others. Childhood memories in Truman always in her heart were the most fun spent outdoors ice-skating, sledding, baseball, swimming and adventures in the woods. God‘s creation was one of the many blessings she enjoyed throughout her life‘s journey; the greatest blessing to be found singing in God‘s heavenly choir. Eileen loved traveling, cooking, baking, reading, gardening and decorating, and the many special friendships formed during her life. She especially loved singing God’s praises in the church choir at First United Methodist Church and was active on many committees, including leader of an adult Sunday school class. She was always a member of the Community Choir. Her greatest desire was to lead others to Christ so they could have God’s free gift of salvation.
She is survived by her loving husband Francis “Frank” Scott Lupro who she believed was sent by God to fill her days with joy; a sister, Diana Mills, Richmond, KY; brother, Geri (Marjie) Griffith, Emporium; niece, Stephanie (Evan) Barker, and their two children of Richmond, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be No Visitation. Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 306 S Spruce St, Emporium, PA on Saturday (June 12, 2021) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Short, Pastor, officiating.
