Frank Ehrensberger, Product Production Manager, at St. Marys Carbon Company was the guest speaker at the Rotary luncheon meeting October 27th.
St. Mary’s Carbon Co., a fourth generation owned company, was started in 1939 by Jerome E. Lanzel, Sr. & Louis W. Eberl focusing on engineered dynamic applications. Today the company has 3 entities; St. Marys Carbon Co., St. Marys, PA, specializing in carbon/graphite & copper graphite components for the industrial, automotive and aerospace industry; SMC Powder Metallurgy Inc. in Galeton, PA specializing in precision powder metals parts for the automotive, lawn & garden industry, along with marine power and industrial motors. U. S. Resistor, Inc. in St. Marys, PA, specializing in ceramic & organic industrial resistors, such as surge protectors, circuit breakers, lightning arrestors, wind power and medical applications. All 3 plants total approximately 100 employees. Also pictured, is Rotarian and mother-in-law of speaker, Sue Bucher.
