Theresa Hammersley, 89, of 345 E. Allegany Ave., Emporium, PA died at her residence on Wednesday morning (August 8, 2020)
She was born February 20, 1931 in DuBois, PA a daughter of the late Merle M. and Ann Masisak Ivonowski
On July 15, 1950 in First Presbyterian Church, Emporium, she married the late James Hammersley.
Theresa retired from Cameron County School District where she was cafeteria manager for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Cameron County Republican Committee and the Junior Womans Club. She enjoyed working at the Buttonwood, camping, playing cards and sewing. She was a loving mother and grandmother
Theresa is survived by son, James I. (Susan) Hammersley, Jr., Ennice, NC; son, Michael L. (Teresa) Hammersley, Carrboro, NC; son, Thomas D. Hammersley, Emporium; daughter, Leanne (Randy) Cooney, Emporium; daughter, Kathleen J. (David) Osti, Emporium; son, Ronald G. (Cathy) Hammersley, Emporium; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friends including the Bauer family.
In addition to her parents and husband Theresa was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Ivonowski.
Visitation will be at the First Presbyterian Church, 205 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Church on Wednesday (August 12, 2020) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Short, officiating.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA
