 Programs This Weekend at Sinnemahoning

 Enjoy time outdoors with park staff and other outdoor enthusiasts this weekend at Sinnemahoning State Park. Programs include kayak games, fishing tips, and reading game sign. >br> 

Kayak Games, Saturday, August 22, 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Learn basic water safety and paddling techniques while enjoying games and activities to improve kayak skills. Bring your own kayak and gear or borrow ours. Ages 9 to adult, experienced kayakers only. Pre-registration required. When registering, please indicate if you want to borrow a kayak for the program. Dress for the water (no jeans) and bring a face mask.

 Reeling in the Weekend Fishing Program, Saturday, August 22, 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Spend an evening at the George B. Stevenson reservoir learning about the species of fish that call the reservoir home, getting tips on how to fish for them, and then practicing the knowledge you gain by going fishing. Fishing rods, reels, and tackle are available for use, or bring your own. All ages welcome. Face masks required. Limit 15 people. Pre-registration is required. Meet at the Eagle Watch at the Lake Day Use Area.

 Nature Walk: Reading & Interpreting Game Sign, Sunday, August. 23, 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM. Discover a new way of looking at the forest. Learn to identify the different types of sign left by game species in the forest, how to interpret the sign, and receive tips on using game sign to locate game and other wildlife. All ages welcome, but program is most suited for ages 10 to adult. Walk will cover 1-1 ½ miles over uneven terrain. Face masks required. Limit 24 people. Meet in front of the Wildlife Center. 

To mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19, until further notice, all programs at Sinnemahoning State Park will be held outdoors, will be limited to 25 people or less, will follow social-distancing guidelines, and will require use of face masks. All participants must wear face coverings while attending park programs.
