Keystone Reptile Club Hosts Rattlesnake Hunt July 11

Keystone Reptile Club, Inc. 

 We will be holding the Sinnemahoning Rattlesnake Hunt on July 11 at Sinnemahoning Sportsmen Club. This will be a one day hunt only. 

Hunters can register and get provisional permit at 7am Saturday and hunt will end at 6pm Saturday. Hunters must register before they hunt and get a provisional permit. It will be a catch and release event as in the past all snakes must be returned to capture site by Sunset on Sunday. You must have a valid fishing license and a Venomous snake permit that is not used. If you have already tagged a Venomous snake you will be unable to get a Provisional permit. The snakes turned in will be weighed, measured for length, and rattles counted as in past. We will not be handing out any prizes this year, but the snakes caught will be eligible for Championship hunt in 2021. Bill will explain how Championship for 2021 will work during Registration seminar.

There will be no food and drink at the snake hunt pavilion. The Sinnemahoning Sportsmen Club will be open inside for drinks and dining. The Sportsmen club is having a chicken bbq that will start at 1pm on Saturday and will be first come first serve. There will be no vendors, no raffles, no KRC camping and no tshirts, this is hunt only. We will be going along with the CDC guidelines so there will be no kids pits and no hands on snakes other than the pit staff measuring the snakes. There will be educational lectures through out the day and question and answers. You will be able to see the snakes that are caught be weighed and measured.

We have worked hard to get this set up. Please no complaining and if you feel unsafe please stay home and do not attend!

The Keystone Reptile club will be utilizing the clubs snake pit for THEIR 2020 hunt, we ARE NOT affiliated with the hunt this year due to state Government restrictions!!!
