Coffee with the Birds - Enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa, INDOORS, as we participate in a Project Feeder Watch bird count and learn to identify some of the less common winter feeder birds. Different bird-watching topics covered each week. No pre-registration. Wildlife Center Classroom

Saturday, Jan. 25, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Pennsylvania Owls - Discover the folklore, natural history and adaptations of owls, mysterious creatures of the night. PowerPoint presentation enhanced by owl mounts, talons, wings and pellets. Program recommended for adults and children ages 8 and up. No pre-registration required. Wildlife Center Classroom

Saturday, Feb. 1, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Winter Women in the Wilds - Ladies, beat cabin fever this winter while trying something new during this fun weekend of outdoor recreation and environmental education. $70 per person. Registration is full, but the park is still accepting names on the waiting list. Call park office for information. Thursday, Feb. 20, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Homeschool Day: Awesome Owls – Students, join us for an owl-some day of learning as we take flight into the world of owls. Open to all grade levels. Pre-registration is required by Tuesday Feb. 18. Wildlife Center Classroom

Different bird-watching topics covered each week. No pre-registration. Wildlife Center Classroom

Saturday, Feb. 22, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Snowshoeing Basics or Nature Hike – Are you ready to give snowshoeing a try? Park staff will help you get started. Snow shoes and trekking poles will be provided or bring your own. Program will begin indoors with an introduction to snowshoeing equipment and styles, followed by a guided practice instruction on level ground. Participants are then encouraged to borrow the snowshoes to explore the park on their own after the program. If snow depth is insufficient for snowshoeing, the indoor portion of the program will still be held from 11:00-11:30 AM, and a 2- to 3-mile nature hike will be offered from 11:30 AM -1:00 PM. Program is free, but pre-registration is required by Thursday February 20.

Saturday, Feb. 29, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
4H Wildlife and Forestry Field Day - A full day of hands-on wildlife and forestry educational activities for youth ages 8-18. More details soon to follow. Must be a member of 4H to participate. For more information about 4H, please contact your local Penn State Extension office. Sinnemahoning Park Office and Wildlife Center.
