WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Freezing rain. Ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.
* WHERE...North central Pennsylvania.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Ice will accumulate mainly on colder surfaces like car roofs, trees, and power lines. Some sidewalks and roads may become icy, but the temperatures of those surfaces may stay just above freezing all night. Slippery travel is possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Sleet and snow will likely mix into the rain, especially toward morning. While the accumulation of snow and sleet is expected to be only an inch or less for most locations, the snow and sleet could mask the glaze of ice which could be underneath.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorists to adjust speeds based on driving conditions as winter weather impacts Pennsylvania roadways.
