Cameron County Community Chest 2020 Fund Drive – Nov. Update

Cameron County Community Chest 2020 Fund Drive – Nov. Update

We are seven weeks into the 2020 fund drive. We have had a great start. Through Nov. 22nd, we have collected $8,665 toward our $19,000 goal. Thanks to all who have contributed. This drive will run through September 30, 2020.

The Cameron County Community Chest will be having a booth at Christmas in the Wilds on Saturday, December the 14th. Stop on down. We will be in front of Cameron’s Hair Salon. We will have information about the Community Chest, Christmas items for the kids and sign up to win a sleigh full of goodies. Hope to see you there.

Watch for our monthly updates. Each month we will feature a write up on one of the organizations that the Cameron County Community Chest contributes to. This month’s feature will be the Package Team.

A group of Rich Valley women started the Package Team over 20 years ago. The team currently sends out around 85 packages (a little piece of Cameron County for Christmas) each year to our local service men, women and reservists. Boxes are filled with snacks, coffee, toiletries, paper, pens, newspapers, playing cards, and letters from the kids at Woodland Elementary. Some items are donated by local businesses. Other items are purchased. Postage is the largest cost. If you would like to find out more about the Package Team, get your Service Person on the list, or make a donation to Package Team, Please contact Karin Schatz at 486-0573.

No donation/memorial is too small. Please send your tax-deductible contribution to: Cameron County Community Chest, PO Box 134, Emporium, PA. 15834, Attn: Judd Schager or check out our Face Book page for the Pay Pal button. Help to support the Recreation Board, Community Nurses, Red Cross, Friends of the Library, the Package Team, the Garden Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Sylvan Heritage, SPCA and Special Community Requests.

The Cameron County Community Chest Board of Directors wishes everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Cameron County Community Chest 2020 Fund Drive – Nov. Update
