Rotary News - The Bear Den

Food was the topic at the Rotary luncheon meeting October 29th. John Guisto III, owner of the Bear Den, a family friendly restaurant/bar was the guest speaker.

John grew up in Northern Virginia, but at age 16 moved back to Emporium with his family and attended CCHS in his 11th and 12th year. After graduating moved out of the area and has worked in many fine restaurants in Virginia, Florida and Pittsburgh but returned to Emporium in 2010 and cooked at the Cabin Kitchen. In 2012, John decided to attend Culinary School at IUP, Punxsutawney where he found his love for food, cooking and serving. After culinary school and working in Pittsburgh for several years, John moved back to Emporium where he loves the small town atmosphere and to bring his knowledge of cooking to our area. The Bear Den employs 10 people and seats approximately 65 people. John has many plans on renovating the building and improving the menu. Daily specials can be found on The Bear Den FB page.
