Programs For the Week of August 8-11 at Sinnemahoning State Park
This week Sinnemahoning State Park is offering three different ways to enjoy the George B. Stevenson reservoir, with fishing, kayaking, and pontoon boat tours, plus a Saturday evening program featuring rattlesnakes.
Fishing Skills on the Lake, Thursday, August 8, 12:00 PM-2:00 PM. Brush up on your fishing skills aboard the pontoon boat while learning about the various fish habitats of the lake. No license required. Tackle and bait provided. Group size limited. Pre-registration required by Wednesday, August 7. Lake Day Use Area.
Kayak Games, Saturday, August 10, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Learn basic water safety and paddling techniques while enjoying games and activities to improve kayak skills. All equipment provided. Ages 12 through adult, swimmers only. Group size limited. Pre-registration required by Friday, August 9. Lake Day Use Area
The Secret Behind the Rattle, Saturday, August 10, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM. Join guest speaker Stacy Foster to discover the secret life of the timber rattlesnake and its important role in the PA forest ecosystem. All are welcome to attend. Wildlife Center classroom.
Pontoon Boat Tours, Sunday, August 11, 10:30-11:45 AM and 12:00-1:15 PM. Relaxing and informative 1-hour tour of the Stevenson reservoir. Free program. Donations requested. Reservations recommended. Lake Day Use Area.
