Ronald Delos Blauvelt


Ronald Delos Blauvelt, 100, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA formerly of Buffalo Road, Coudersport, PA died at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA on Sunday afternoon (June 23, 2019). He was born December 14, 1918 in Ayers Hill, Potter County, PA a son of the late Walter W. and Lena L. Chastain Blauvelt. On June 9, 1939 in Coudersport, PA he married the late 
Edith Irene Boehler.

Ron lived with his daughter Teresa for the past ten years prior to moving to the Manor. He served with the US Navy aboard the destroyer escort USS Ulvert M. Moore (DE 442) in the Asiatic-South Pacific Campaign during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He was a life member of the Eulalia Lodge F. and A.M. #342 and the Coudersport Consistory. Ron worked mostly in the tanning business, sometimes working two jobs at a time. He worked at places including Fisher Potato Farm, PennDOT, Rich & Co. pipeline, Anchor Toy Company, Elk Tanning Company, Keystone Tanning and Glue, Chevy Motor and axle, Curtis Wright, Rhodes and Elmhurst Construction, J.F. Brown Welding, PA Railroad, Damascus Tanning and Pierce Glass Co. Ron and his late wife Irene lived and worked on their Potter County farm for 60 years. He loved spending time with his family.
 Ron will be missed by his faithful dog "Tinker".

He is survived by a daughter, Teresa (John) Genaux, Emporium; daughter-in-law, Sandra Blauvelt Korn, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Robin Kuleck, Alan and Alan Quimby, Tony and Ronald Blauvelt; four step granddaughters: Kathleen, Karen, Jani and Judy; ten great grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren; one special step great granddaughter, Keira Lewis; a sister, Frieda Baker, Murfreesboro, TN and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by a son, Ronald Blauvelt in 1990, two brothers, Lewis and Paul Blauvelt. 

A Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday (June 29, 2019) at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dave Hockey, officiating.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 Burial with a Military Service will be held by the Potter County Honor Guard, in the Homer Cemetery, Coudersport, PA.
