Partnering with Cameron County Recreation Center we took a bus trip to Elk Country Visitor Center yesterday to attend their 1st Youth Elk Camp. What an amazing and educational day for the 63 young people that attended. Students participated in a mock calf capture, elk survivor activity, antler scoring, a nature scavenger hunt, Watched the new Elk movie and made their own walking sticks. Guest speaker at the end of the day was our friend Stacy Foster who taught us a ton about snakes and why they are important in our environment. We even got to touch a rattlesnake (for those that cared to). What a great experience learning from some of the most passionate conservation experts in the State. Thank You Keystone Elk Country Alliance, presenters and volunteers for providing this opportunity.
