Walter V. Knisely


Walter V. Knisely, 85, of Castle Garden Road, Driftwood PA died at his daughter’s residence in Emporium, PA on Thursday ( April 11, 2019 ) after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 2, 1933 the son of the late Thomas E. Knisely and Florence Moate Mitcheltree.

He served in the United States Navy from 1952-1956. He retired in 1990 after working at 
PennDot and GKN.

His greatest joy was his time spent in Castle Garden with his neighbors, family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Cindy ( Dave) Malize and Linda (Dave) Zucal, five grandchildren, Pete (Shelby) Malize, Nick and Brett Malize, Thao ( Ben) Krupnik and Anna Lewis, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Knisely, and three sisters, Bernice Beldin, Joyce Sherry and Nancy Reed.

At his request , his body was donated to Science Care and there will be no visitation or service. 
 His final resting place will be at Gilmore Cemetery, Sinnamahoning, PA.
