Sharon Fitzgerald, Secretary of the Coudersport Rotary Club was the guest speaker at the Emporium Rotary luncheon meeting March 5th sharing updates on their club and highlights of the second annual Eliot Ness Festival which will be held July 19-21st in Coudersport, PA.

Eliot Ness was an American Prohibition agent famous for his efforts to bring down Al Capone and enforce Prohibition in Chicago, Illinois, and the leader of a famous team of law enforcements agents from Chicago, nicknamed The Untouchables.

The Coudersport Rotary Club hosts “Jack’s Place” which has a Great Gatsby theme serving beer, wine, sodas and snacks. The festival celebrates the historical and cultural significance of Eliot Ness, the famous crime fighter and takes the community and festival goers back to the Prohibition Era. Highlights of the festival include; 1920’s car show, street theater, historical programming, costumes, music, tours, family activities, dancing and more, topped off by fireworks Saturday night. This year they will be staging a theatre presentation &  historical trial of Al Capone in the Potter County Court House featuring a lawyer who is a descendant of Eliot Ness.
